Breaking: Ceasefire Declaration
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that the Israel-Iran Ceasefire is in effect and urged both nations to respect it. This announcement came just hours after Iran launched missiles that reportedly resulted in four deaths, according to Israel’s ambulance service.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, “THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!”
The ceasefire agreement was reached after Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and officials from Iran, with Qatar playing a role in the mediation process, as explained by a senior White House official.

Staged Implementation Process
“Israel and Iran have agreed to a complete ceasefire. This will begin in approximately 6 hours, allowing both sides to complete their current operations. The ceasefire will last for 12 hours, after which the war will officially come to an end.
Former President Trump stated that Iran will begin the ceasefire first, followed by Israel after 12 hours. By the end of 24 hours, the conflict will be recognized as ended.”
Final Military Actions
Israel’s military reported that Iran launched a series of missile attacks, which resulted in four fatalities in Beersheba. This marked the first deaths in Israel since President Trump announced a ceasefire. According to a news agency in Iran, the country fired its final wave of missiles just before the truce took effect.
Residents near Tel Aviv and in Beersheba reported hearing explosions shortly before Trump’s announcement. His statement, made shortly after 6 p.m. Eastern time, surprised even some of his closest officials.
As of now, Israel has not confirmed the ceasefire, and just three hours after Trump’s announcement, there were new attacks from Israel targeting Iran. This has led to uncertainty about whether all parties involved agreed to the ceasefire.
Diplomatic Negotiations
Qatar’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, recently spoke with Iranian officials and received their agreement on a key issue, according to a source familiar with the talks.
A senior White House official said Trump had brokered a ceasefire deal in a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Israel had agreed so long as Iran did not launch further attacks.
U.S. Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and special envoy Steve Witkoff were involved in discussions with Iran. Trump informed Qatar’s Emir that Israel had agreed to the ceasefire and asked Qatar to persuade Iran to do the same. Following that, Vice President Vance coordinated with Qatar’s Prime Minister on the details.
According to the source, the agreement was reached through high-level discussions involving the President, Vice President, and leaders from Qatar.
Iranian Conditions
An Iranian official recently stated that Iran had agreed to a ceasefire. However, the country’s foreign minister made it clear that hostilities would only stop if Israel halted its attacks.
Abbas Araqchi announced on Tuesday morning that if Israel ended its “unlawful aggression” against Iran by 4 a.m. Tehran time (which is 12:30 a.m. GMT), Iran would not continue its military response after that time. Araqchi also mentioned that a final decision about stopping military operations would be made later.
Nuclear Program Impact
Israel, along with support from the United States, has launched attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities. They believe that Iran was on the verge of developing a nuclear weapon. This action followed a weekend where U.S. bombers dropped massive bombs designed to penetrate deep underground, targeting Iranian sites associated with nuclear development.
Vice President JD Vance, speaking on Fox News, stated, “Iran was very close to having a nuclear weapon.” He went on to assure viewers that “now Iran is unable to build a nuclear weapon with the equipment they possess because we have destroyed it.”
Much of Tehran’s population of 10 million has fled after days of bombing.
Market Response after Israel-Iran Ceasefire
Markets reacted favorably to the news.
S&P 500 futures rose 0.4% late on Monday, suggesting traders expect the U.S. stock market to open with gains on Tuesday.
U.S. crude oil prices fell in early Asian trading on Tuesday, reaching their lowest level in over a week after President Trump announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, which alleviated concerns about potential oil supply disruptions.
Trump congratulated both countries on their decision to end the conflict, praising their strength and intelligence in reaching the agreement, calling it “THE 12-DAY WAR.”
“This conflict had the potential to last for many years and could have caused great destruction across the Middle East, but it ended and will not continue! Let’s wish blessings upon Israel, Iran, the entire Middle East, the United States, and the world!” he stated.
