Israel Iran Ceasefire Broken? Breaking Developments

Israeli Defence Minister Orders Military Strikes

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Tuesday that he has directed the military to launch attacks on Tehran. This decision came after he claimed that Iran had fired missiles, which he said broke a ceasefire that had only been announced a few hours earlier by U.S. President Donald Trump.

In response, Iran denied violating the ceasefire. According to Iranian media, the military stated that there had been no missile launches towards Israel in recent hours.

These events have raised concerns about the effectiveness of the ceasefire, which was meant to bring an end to 12 days of conflict. And pose questions like: Israel Iran Ceasefire Broken?

Official Statements and Military Orders

Israeli official Katz announced that he has ordered the military to keep carrying out strong operations against Iranian military targets and terrorist groups in Tehran. This decision comes after Iran reportedly broke a ceasefire that President Trump recently announced.

Earlier, Trump had posted a message saying, “THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!” Despite this, Iran launched missiles toward Israel, prompting a firm response from Israel.

Katz explained that he instructed the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to continue their intense efforts against Iranian targets because of this violation. He emphasized that this action is a direct response to Iran’s aggression and is part of a plan that he coordinated with the Prime Minister.

The IDF also stated that they will respond strongly to any threats, declaring, “In light of the serious violation of the ceasefire by the Iranian regime, we will strike back with force,” according to their Chief of General Staff, Eyal Zamir.

Iranian Response and Denial

Iranian state media have reported that Tehran is rejecting Israel’s claims of a ceasefire violation. The country’s top security group, called the Supreme National Security Council, announced that Iran’s military has made Israel “accept defeat and agree to a ceasefire” on its own.

They also warned that Iranian forces are prepared to respond if Israel acts aggressively again.

Ceasefire Background and Initial Acceptance

Both Israel and Iran have agreed to a ceasefire following an announcement by President Trump. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel accomplished its objectives in a surprise attack on Iran that took place on June 13, targeting Iran’s nuclear program and missile capabilities.

He expressed gratitude to President Trump and the United States for their support in addressing the threat posed by Iran’s nuclear activities. In response, Iran insists that its nuclear program is meant for peaceful purposes and denies any intentions of developing nuclear weapons.

Global Market Response

Stock markets around the world jumped and oil prices dropped on Tuesday after a ceasefire was announced. People are hopeful that this could mean a resolution to the ongoing war.

This came just two days after the United States took action by launching large bombs on Iranian nuclear sites.
